It’s become a sort of tradition for me to give some sort of general update on or around April 20 for some reason (and no, it’s not the reason you’re thinking of). So, here’s what I have. Granted it will probably be a bit less than on previous years:
- As previously noted, my unpublished work Boston Betty is in the running at the CIBA’s (you can read about it here: https://franklinposner.com/2021/04/05/boston-betty-makes-the-semi-finals/ ). The awards ceremony (entirely virtual this year, thanks to our old buddy COVID) is happening on Thursday of this week. I’m not sure if I’ll be able to view it, but I’m going to try. Whatever happens, I will update you all about it. We’ll see if I’m a two-time winner!
- In the meantime, most of my body of work is now on-line at Wattpad (direct link is https://www.wattpad.com/user/FranklinPosner ). I have nine published works there, including a slowly growing anthology (titled VAMPIRE UP!). This is my literary CV, my oeuvre or opus, as it were, the entirety of what I have written in the Suburban Vampire series (except, of course, Boston Betty, which is a spin-off).
- Speaking of the above, I am currently (albeit slowly) working on another entry in the Suburban Vampire series titled Scott Campbell and the Holy Grail. It’s another of Scott’s misadventures, following the explosive events of the epic Redemption. Yes, I am working on it; yes, I am taking my time. I apologize, but all the cool authors are taking their time with sequel projects (Yes, I am looking at you, George R.R.).
- I’ve had several other projects in the fire, but none are “cooking” yet, so to speak. I was pursuing a high fantasy project, but that seems to be on the back burner; another project, a detective noir based on some actual Portland crime history hasn’t taken off yet, but will be a priority after I’m done with Holy Grail. The Unaware Ones, my angels-and-demons caper, seems to be on the back burner as well, but I haven’t forgotten about it.
